On the 30th September 2023, the Department of the Blue Economy represented by the Principal Programme Development officer (Actg Director) Mr. Terrence Crea, attended the 8th Senior Officials meeting (SOM) in preparation for the 1st High Level Meeting (HLM) of leaders to be organized in Bali, Indonesia from the 10th – 11th October 2023.
During the Forum countries agreed on the way forward with regard to the organization of the HLM and most importantly agreed on the deliverables of for the HLM.
Additionally, countries reviewed and accepted the final draft of the joint leaders declaration that will be presented to the leaders for adoption during the HLM. The aim of the declaration is to solidify the collaboration and partnerships between countries of the forum.
