The Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Republic of Seychelles, H.E, Mr Ali bin Abdullah bin Salirn Al Mahmqi, conducted a courtesy call on the Designated Minister and the Minister for Fisheries and the Blue Economy, Mr Jean-Francois Ferrari, this afternoon (Tuesday 18th May, 2021) at the Ministry.
Minister Ferrari used this opportunity to brief the newly accredited Omani Ambassador about current fisheries national projects that are currently being implemented in the Seychelles. This includes the development of the area on Ile Du Port, which has been designated as the Fish Processing Zone, the fisheries infrastructure projects in different fishermen communities, aquaculture and the development of new business opportunities in the Blue Economy sector.
The possibility of having a Blue Economy cooperation agreement was also discussed between the Minister and Ambassador Al Mahmqi, to further strengthen diplomatic relations between the two countries.
